No Battery Is Detected Vista Hp Pavilion
Craftsman 5hp Chipper Shredder Manual. Hi all, I have a HP DV 3505xx notebook that originally shipped with Vista. Last week I upgraded to Windows 7. I notice now that the battery doesn't appear to be charging and the message over the battery icon on the task bar is 'No battery is detected'. I have tried the HP recommended remedies that include: A hard reset Reset BIOS to default settings Update BIOS I have also tried uninstalling/reinstalling the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery. What I wonder is whether I could uninstall the Windows 7 ACPI driver and replace it with Vista driver?
Efi Designer Edition For Hp Cd here. My only problem is that I can't find a HP specific ACPI Vista driver for download. Any suggestions?

This software applies to Vista (as you note in your post); however, the initial post and the System Specifications state the computer is using Windows 7.
I'm not sure if this program will work on Windows 7 (or if it will cause more problems if it actually does install) though I could find nothing equivalent for that model of computer (or for Windows 7) except the following under Step 3:. Before starting, confirm that I have the correct computer - it would be best to start with the Service Tag number and search specific to your exact computer. That entire page is dedicated to battery issues with the 6400, so it's worth a look (you may need to update the BIOS or try some other options as well - just follow the instructions and make sure you use the correct versions for the computer and your operating system) but if you're going to try to update the Power management software, I recommend you use the version that appears to be most applicable to Windows 7. I must admit I had trouble finding any Windows 7 downloads for this computer model (assuming I have the right one) - and that may be the root of the problem - but if you use the Service Tag number, you may have more success as I could not be that specific in my search. At some point, it recommends replacing the battery - though to be honest if this occurred at the exact same time you upgraded from XP to W7, I find it quite a coincidence the battery would decide to fail at that precise moment (but it is possible). I suspect instead that it is some type of compatibility problem with the battery or the adapter (or perhaps something else). Changing the software and BIOS may help and may in fact resolve the problem - they are certainly worth a try before buying a new battery or spending money to get it checked.
