VueScan might seem good value to some, especially if they already have the scanner that would fulfill their scanning needs for many years to come, if driver problems had not got in the way. However, $ 40 is the price of VueScan only if you are satisfied with the sheer basics, viz. Flatbed scanning and 1 year of free upgrades. If you need to be capable of slide scanning, OCR, and so-called advanced features, the price is $ 90. Yes, I've got the Pro version. Well, it's up to you now. VueScan or a new scanner.

Today I installed VueScan on my Win7 (7264) X64. After that the 1250 was still not recognized.

Go to start and execute/run devmgmt.msc. You will get the hardware list with a yellow marker on your scanner driver. Double klick on that icon.

Now you need to go to the second tab (driver program if I translate it) and second button (renew if I translate it) where you can install drivers for the device. Tell windows to search on your computer and point to the VueScan directory (directly on C:, not in programs). Now Windows 7 (7264) X64 will find the driver and your Epson 1250 is recognized.:-) Tested and working. This same method worked for installing the AlexP drivers for my PS3 Eyetoy on windows 7 (7264).
